What You Need To Know About Scissors

Blade Types
There are only two types of shear blades. Neither are right or wrong, only different. Select the blade type that is most suited for your needs.

Convex Edge: State of the art, smoother cutting blade, and requires the least amount of thumb force.  A must for slide cutting.  These are harder to make and therefore more expensive, but worth it.

Many sharpener's are not trained to provide the manufacturer's specifications that required to maintain a true convex edge. "See Repair Service." The best repair service is the one that helps you maintain your scissors performance and extend their longevity.

Beveled Edge:  The oldest blade design.  Can cut well, but requires more thumb force than the convex blade.

Many sharpener's convert convex edges to beveled edges because it is easier for them to service; it will change the more precise cutting ability of a convex edge forever. "See Repair Service."
